"Local Wood is a community of craftsman whose timeless craft of woodworking has been a delight to work with. Our 14 harvested ash trees neatly cut to 9 ft lengths sat in my storage room in the basement until I could identify the right craftsman to work with. Finding Scott at Local Wood in Berryville who has the kilns and equipment set this project into motion. His guys picked up our wood, took it to the kilns in Berryville and within a month I now have the most beautiful handcrafted wood floors you will ever find. Scott's crew including Carlos who took the project to the final stages laid the floors down in both the family room and study in a timely and professional manner. I look at these floors now and think of not only the beauty of nature from my property but the skill of those who brought this to pass. Professional craftsman who understand the creativity process are exceptional trades people. This process of harvesting trees, drying them out, cutting them into flooring, and laying the tongue and groove boards down, sanding, staining and the layers of satin finish feels like being good stewards of our environment.
